Some of our Learning Pod students have been learning the ie phoneme through the Get Reading Right program. The students have learned that the phoneme ie can be written in several different ways, including ie as in pie, i as in child, igh as in light and y as in fry. Learning phonemes helps children with their reading and spelling. In these two videos Denzel and Nicholas have made a Puppet Pals video about the ie phoneme and in the second video we have made a video explaining the ie phoneme. They thoroughly enjoyed making them, so we hope you enjoy watching them!
We love Puppet Pals in the Learning Pod. Here are some of our students having fun with Puppet Pals and the phoneme ee. Hi everyone. Can't believe 2013 came about so quickly. Where did the holidays go? There is lots happening in the Learning Pod this year. The big news is that we have three MiniLit groups running. MiniLit began last year at Broulee Public School and was very successful so is being run with three groups of targeted Year 1 and Year 2 students this year. Tara Leigh-Taylor and Sharon Barnes are our MiniLit teachers and have been working very hard with their students. Here are some photos of our MiniLit teachers and students working hard. MultiLit is also back in full swing. Here are some pictures of our MultiLit students working hard with their teachers. Miss Dorney has begun a new program being trialled at Broulee Public School this year. It is called Get Reading Right. It helps small groups of students learn phonics and sight words. It has a supported website called Phonics Hero. And of course who could forget about Reading Recovery!!! Our three Reading Recovery students this semester are Luke Pearson-Perryman, Bailey Pearson-Perryman and Shaun Innocenti. The Learning Pod would like to say a special thank you to all the parents who have been coming in to read with students. It's so lovely to be in here of a morning with reading happening everywhere. We really appreciate your support!
